It’s with great excitement that I share the news that Belmont Wesley Fellowship is bringing on a Minister of Music Leadership for the upcoming year! As BWF continues to serve the 7,000 students, faculty, and staff at Belmont University, it’s time to expand our music ministry in worship.
The new Minister of Music Leadership is Kristen Schussler and she will be a graduate student in the School of Music (starting in the fall). Kristen is from New York and currently working in Richmond, VA as a Choir Director for a United Methodist Church. She is a skilled musician and director (especially on the keyboards)-her leadership will be tremendous as she helps BU students use their instrumental and vocal gifts for ministry and God’s glory. If you are a musician, I know Kristen wants to hear from you so your gifts can be used with BWF!
Here’s a word of welcome from Kristen:
“Hello! I’m excited to be joining BWF this fall, and I wanted to introduce myself! I’ll be starting in the Master of Church Music program in the fall, and I’ll be working with the ministry of BWF and interning with Belmont UMC. I did my undergraduate work at Ithaca College’s School of Music in upstate New York, and I moved to Richmond, VA when I graduated. Most recently, I’ve been the Director of Music Ministries for the past 2 years for a wonderful, small United Methodist Church congregation just north of downtown Richmond. My main instruments are the keyboards (piano and organ). I’ve worked with ensembles and choirs of every size and kind, and I love pretty much all styles and genres of music. I’m looking forward to getting to know you all, and working with the musicians we have on campus to create meaningful music for our worship. Let’s make a joyful noise unto the Lord!”
