As October nears its end next week, Belmont Wesley continues to emphasize compassion for students who are bullied on campus or the victims of violence. We invite you for the last week of October to pray for fellow university students who are bullied, harassed, or victims of violence.
“O God, we seek your grace and compassion for our fellow student neighbors who are harassed because of who they are or who they hope to be. Teach us God to be signs of your love to those who hurt. Amen”
Monday Night Prayer Service and Scripture Study:
BWF gathers each Monday night of the semester at 7pm in McWhorter Room408 for an evening prayer service, celebration of Holy Communion, and scripture study. This semester we’re studying the Gospel of John asking ‘Who is Jesus?’ ‘What is Jesus doing?’ ‘Where is Jesus going?’
Bring a Bible and invite a friend for an evening of community, devotion, prayer, and worship including Holy Communion.
Tonight, October 22nd, our scripture study will focus on John 10:11-14. Pastor Adam will share a reflection on the power of these verses in times of despair or crisis.
“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.”~John 10:11
“The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters.”~Psalm 23:1-2
