Rev. David Brent Hollis came to Belmont after five years of serving as an associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Jackson, TN. A native of Jackson, David earned a Bachelor of Arts in religion from Lambuth University where he was a Bishop’s Scholar. While at Lambuth David was the youth director at FUMC in Trenton, TN and worked for two summers at Lakeshore UMA. David then earned a Master of Divinity from Duke University’s Divinity School where he was awarded a Lilly Fellowship. During his time at Duke, he served in ministry in Davidson, NC, Chicago, and Duke University Chapel as a missions intern. David has also served churches in Alabama and Western Kentucky. He was ordained an elder in the United Methodist Church in June 2010. David is married to Katie who grew up in Memphis and works as a physical therapist. They enjoy sports, traveling, music, and spending time with Nineveh, their rescue Border Collie. David strongly believes Christians have a responsibility to love God and neighbor by caring for creation. He is thrilled to be serving in ministry with students at Belmont Wesley Fellowship.
